Simple To Vote for more black MPs

The BBC has reported that the Equalities Secretary, Harriet Harman, is considering a change in the law to allow all-black short lists for parliamentary candidates to increase the number of black MPs.
We should have more black - and more female - MPs if the voters want them, but not all-black - or all-female - short lists which deny choice to voters and reduce democracy. The solution is to change the voting system to the Single Transferable Vote in multi-member constituencies. This would encourage each party to nominate a diversity of candidates and allow voters to choose from among them. This would increase democracy.
