Electoral accountability can't be enforced by first-past-the-post voting system
(Lord) George Foulkes MSP (Labour) had a Platform Opinion piece in The Scotsman recently in which he claimed it was only by FPTP in single-member constituencies that we could hold our MPs to account.

Sadly, most of the comments that followed my article are completely irrelevant. But that's typical for the "comment contributors" we get on The Scotsman, The Herald, and many political blog sites.
